The Valentines

Had two lead singers as I recall Bon Scott and Vince Lovegrove. Liked (at the time) their follow up single “She Said”.
Saw them many times when working part time at “Pinicchio’s” in late 60’s early 70’s.

Sorry Doug!! Re-visiting “Walk Away Renee”. Asked for original version!! Your right the Four Tops also had a hit version. The original (not long before the Four Tops) was also a hit.

Regards
Graham

PS. The above admissions ( re Pinocchio’s) definitely proves Dougs assertion this is an old furts thread.

I thought there may have been an earlier one. Not Chris Farlowe, someone with a similar voice. Who was it?
I was still cacking yellow in the 1960s.

As an aside, Rickie Lee Jones did a great cover of Walk Away Renee in about 198081. Very dreamy sounding.

Your go Graham (I think).

Hi Doug. No, not a Chris Farlowe type voice at all. It’s a group, not well known. Lead singers voice is what I would call haunting. They had a follow up hit “Pretty Ballerina”. Give you (or anyone else) one more try.

Regards

Graham

Left Bank. I stumbled across it in my MP3 collection so can’t claim it, but want to keep things moving. Still your go.
